Who can reach an account

Review why an account is visible to the people who can see it, and grant, narrow, or revoke additional reach for specific business units or users.

Every account is reachable through its intrinsic paths — its owner, the business unit it belongs to, and firm-level reach. The Access grants page lets you layer additional reach on top: grant a whole business unit access to this one account, or narrow such a grant down to a single user.

Prerequisites

  • You can open the account's card — the page is reached from the card's ⋯ menu under Access grants.

Read the current grants

The page opens with an explanation of how reach to this account is composed, followed by two cards.

The Current card lists the account's existing grants, one row each:

  • On the left, the granted business unit's name, and beneath it the effective scope — either the whole business unit can reach the account, or the grant has been narrowed to one named user.
  • On the right, the controls for that grant (below).

An empty state appears when the account has no additional grants.

Grant reach to a business unit

  1. In the Add card, pick a business unit from the dropdown. Only units that do not already hold a grant are listed.
  2. Click Add grant.

The grant takes effect immediately and appears in the Current card.

Narrow a grant to one user

A business-unit grant can be tightened so that only one person, rather than the whole unit, gains the extra reach:

  1. On the grant's row, open the Narrow to user picker and choose a user from the firm.
  2. The grant saves immediately; the row now shows the named user as the effective holder.

To widen it back, click Reset to BU on the same row — the button appears only while the grant is narrowed.

Revoke a grant

Click Revoke on the grant's row. The grant is removed immediately and the people who relied on it lose their extra reach to this account.

Note

Revoking a grant never affects the account's intrinsic reach — its owner and its own business unit can still see it as before. Grants only add reach; removing one returns things to the baseline.
