Trading account balance actions

Adjust a trading account's cash balance or credit directly, and review every adjustment with its before-and-after balances.

Prerequisites

  • You are signed in to the Backoffice and have opened a trading account detail page.
  • Amending or deleting existing balance actions requires the matching permission; without it you can still create and review them, but the edit and delete controls do not appear.

Balance actions are direct adjustments to a trading account. They are distinct from the monetary transactions recorded on a customer's account card: a balance action moves the trading account's money directly and does not go through the pending-approval workflow.

Review the balance actions grid

On the trading account detail page, open the Balance Actions view. Each adjustment appears as one row.

Columns include:

  • TypeDeposit (adds to the pool) or Withdrawal (removes from it).
  • Target — the pool the action moves: Balance (cash) or Credit.
  • Amount — always entered as a positive number, in the account's currency.
  • Balance before and Balance after — the pool's value immediately before and after the action.
  • SubtypeManual or Adjustment.
  • Source and Created at — where the action came from and when it was recorded.
  • Comment — the optional note entered with the action.
  • Expiry — the informational credit-expiry date, shown only for credit actions.
  • Edited — a badge marking a row an operator later amended.

Create a balance action

  1. Click Balance Action above the grid.
  1. Choose the TargetBalance to move cash, or Credit to move the credit pool.
  2. Choose the TypeDeposit to add to the pool, or Withdrawal to remove from it.
  3. Enter the Amount as a positive number in the account's currency.
  4. Choose a SubtypeManual or Adjustment.
  5. (Credit only) Optionally set an Expiry date. The expiry is informational.
  6. (Optional) Add a Comment.
  7. Click the submit button. The trading account's balance or credit updates.

Amend or delete a balance action

If your role allows it, each row's actions offer Edit and Delete.

  • Edit reopens the action so you can change the type, amount, subtype, comment, business date, or — for credit — the expiry. The Target cannot be changed on an amend. An amended row is marked with an Edited badge.
  • Delete removes the action after a confirmation. Deleting an action updates the trading account's balance or credit accordingly.

Warning

Amending or deleting a balance action recalculates the trading account's balance or credit. Use these actions only to correct a genuine mistake, and note why in the comment — amendments are kept as part of the account's history.
