Campaign tracking and SEO¶
Give a brand its marketing plumbing on one screen: the analytics tags that measure the trader area, automatic capture of campaign parameters into the CRM's marketing attribution, and the brand's search-engine basics.
These controls live on the Tracking & SEO sub-tab of the brand editor's Client Zone tab. As with the rest of the editor, your changes apply when you click Save in the header.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in to the Backoffice with a role that grants permission to manage brands.
- You have opened a brand from the brands list and selected Client Zone → Tracking & SEO.
Video walkthrough¶
A two-and-a-half-minute tour: the analytics tags, capturing a campaign link through sign-up, reading the attribution on the client card, and switching on search-engine indexing.
Transcript
- [00:01] Every brand has a Tracking & SEO tab in the brand editor, under Client Zone. The Analytics tags card takes the brand's Google Analytics measurement ID, a Google Tag Manager container, and optionally a Meta Pixel. Each tag has its own switch, and loads on the brand's sign-up and login pages.
- [00:24] Below it, attribution capture. When it's on, campaign links carrying standard UTM parameters, plus Google and Meta click IDs, are captured automatically. You can add custom parameters as chips, and campaign links built for the previous platform keep working, unchanged.
- [00:45] The attribution policy decides which campaign wins. First touch, the default, or last touch, with an attribution window of ninety days out of the box.
- [00:57] The SEO card sets the browser tab title and the meta description shown in search results. Search engine indexing is off by default. Trading areas are usually kept out of search.
- [01:11] Save, and the brand is live.
- [01:16] Now the trader side. A visitor lands through a Google Ads campaign link, and signs up as usual. The campaign values ride along automatically.
- [01:40] Back in the CRM, find the new client.
- [01:52] Their card now shows Marketing attribution. Source, medium and campaign, the click ID, the landing page, and when and how the values were captured. Lead routing rules can match on these same values.
- [02:07] One last thing. Search visibility. While indexing is off, the brand's domain serves a robots file that disallows crawling.
- [02:23] Flip indexing on, and save.
- [02:28] The same domain now lets the crawlers in. Campaign tracking and SEO — configured per brand, in one place.
Analytics tags¶
The Analytics tags card holds the brand's measurement IDs. Each tag has its own on/off switch; the ID field is editable only while its switch is on.
- Google Analytics measurement ID — a GA4 ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX). Enables GA4 page and event tracking on the trader area.
- Google Tag Manager container ID — a GTM ID (GTM-XXXXXXX). Marketing pixels (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, and so on) are managed inside GTM by the broker's marketing team — no platform change is needed per pixel. A well-formed container ID shows a green confirmation that it will load on the login and sign-up pages.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel ID — optional. No pixel loads until an ID is set and the switch is on.
Turning a tag off clears the brand's ID. A firm-level ID, where one is configured, still applies — the switch reflects the resolved value after saving.
Capture campaign attribution¶
The Attribution capture card controls what happens when a visitor arrives at the brand's sign-up or login page through a campaign link — for example:
https://trade.example.com/signup?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=autumn-gold
With Capture tracking parameters from campaign links on, the values on the link are saved to the account's marketing-attribution fields — the same fields the Partner API fills for affiliate traffic — and drive lead assignment rules, CRM columns, and reports.
Recognized parameters¶
The standard set is captured out of the box and is shown as chips on the card:
utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content,
utm_creative, plus the ad-platform click IDs gclid (Google) and fbclid
(Meta).
To capture anything beyond the standard set — for example Microsoft
Advertising's msclkid — type the parameter name into the field at the end of
the chip row and press Enter. Custom parameters are captured into the
account's additional info; remove one by clicking the × on its chip.
Links from the previous platform keep working
Campaign links built in the mi_ format (for example mi_utmSource=...,
mi_utmCampaign=...) are recognized automatically and captured into the
same fields as their standard utm_* equivalents. Nothing to configure,
and no need to rebuild existing campaign URLs.
Attribution policy and window¶
Two controls decide which campaign wins when a visitor arrives more than once:
- First touch (the default) — the first campaign that brought the visitor wins. Saved values are never overwritten once the client has funded.
- Last touch — every new campaign visit overwrites the saved values (per field) before sign-up.
The Attribution window (1–365 days, 90 by default) is how long captured values persist in the visitor's browser before sign-up. After the window expires, a new campaign may re-attribute the visitor.
Read attribution on the client card¶
Captured values surface on the account card in the CRM as a read-only Marketing attribution card: source, medium, campaign, term, content, the Google click ID, the landing page and referrer, when the values were captured and how (sign-up, login re-attribution), the attribution policy that applied, and the affiliate and promotion-code fields.
The card appears only on accounts that carry attribution data — accounts created by hand in the CRM simply don't show it. Field-level security applies exactly as it does to the rest of the account card, and changes are audited.
SEO¶
The SEO card carries the brand's search-engine basics:
- Browser tab title — the title shown in the browser tab (it also lives in the login branding card; this is the same setting, surfaced here because it is the page title crawlers see).
- Meta description — up to 160 characters, shown under the title in search results when indexing is allowed.
- Search engine indexing — off by default, with an ON/OFF badge next
to the label. While it is off, the brand's domain serves a
robots.txtthat disallows crawling and pages carry anoindexdirective. Switch it on to let search engines index the trader area; therobots.txtserved on the brand's own domain updates shortly after you save.
Note
Trading areas are usually kept out of search — for most brokers the marketing site does the SEO, and the trading platform stays unindexed. Opt a brand in only when its trader area is meant to be discoverable.
