Switching workspaces¶
Change which workspace you are working in so that what you see and manage is scoped to the right context.
A workspace is either the System workspace, used for platform-wide administration, or a specific firm. The workspace you choose sets the scope of the accounts, settings, and users you work with.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in to the Backoffice.
- Your role can reach more than one workspace. If it cannot, the switcher shows only the single workspace you belong to.
To switch workspace:
- At the top of the sidebar, click the workspace switcher, which shows the name of the workspace you are in now.
-
Choose a workspace:
- Under System, select the System workspace for platform-wide admin screens.
- Under Firms, select a firm to work within that firm.
- Under Recent, pick one of the firms you switched to most recently.
-
If your list of firms is long, type in the search box to narrow it. You can search by firm name or by the firm's #id.
The Backoffice switches to the workspace you chose, and every screen now shows that workspace's data. A check mark marks the workspace you are currently in. Your choice is remembered, so the next time you sign in you return to the same workspace.
Note
You can also switch workspace from the command palette: press ⌘K, type Switch workspace, and select the action to open the switcher.
