Configure lead assignment

Set the default owner that new leads are routed to in your firm, and review how assignment precedence works.

The Lead assignment page controls where a new lead lands when it enters your firm: who becomes its owner by default, and which pool catches leads that nothing else claims.

Prerequisites

  • You are signed in to the Backoffice with a role that can manage firm settings.
  • You have selected the firm's workspace.

Set the firm default owner

  1. Open Lead assignment from the sidebar.
  2. In the Firm default owner card, pick the default owner — a user or a business unit in the firm.
  1. Click Save in the header. A confirmation appears.

To remove the default, clear the picker and save — an unset default is allowed.

The fallback pool

The Fallback card shows your firm's designated New Leads pool — the business unit that receives leads no other rule or default claims. Leads owned by a business unit sit in a shared pool that its members can claim and work. This card is informational; the pool is provisioned with the firm and is not changed from this page.

Assignment precedence

The Precedence card explains the order in which a new lead's owner is decided — an explicit assignment first, then the firm default owner you set above, and finally the fallback pool. It is a read-only explanation to help you predict where a lead will land.

Note

You can always reassign a lead afterwards — individually from its row in the accounts list, or in bulk with Assign agent. See Work the accounts list.
