Commission policies¶
Set the fee your firm charges on a prediction purchase — shown to the trader separately from the price.
Commission is the second half of your commercial terms. Unlike the markup in a pricing policy, which is inside the price, commission is presented to the trader as its own line so the cost of the trade is never hidden in the price.
Prerequisites
- Your permission group grants the Predictions View capability to read the screen, and the Pricing capability to change anything — pricing and commission share one capability.
- Policy changes are refused while you are acting as another user — sign back in as yourself.
Open the screen¶
In the left sidebar, open Predictions and choose Commission.
Commission uses the same Firm / Provider / Topic / Market scope hierarchy as pricing, with one active policy per scope and the most specific match winning. See Scope.
Note
If no active commission policy covers a market, no fee is charged on it. That is a valid commercial choice — just make sure it is a deliberate one.
Create a commission policy¶
- Click New commission policy.
- Choose the Scope and, for anything narrower than firm, the Scope key.
- Set the fee:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Commission | A percentage of the execution cost, in basis points. |
| Fee per contract | A flat amount in USD for each contract bought, up to the platform's ceiling. |
| Minimum per order | A floor in USD. Set 0 to disable the floor. |
| Maximum per order | A cap in USD. Leave it empty for no cap. The maximum can never be below the minimum. |
| Refund the full commission when a market is voided | Fixed on in this version — if a market is voided, the opening commission always comes back. |
- (Optional) Set Effective from, and add a Reason for the audit trail.
- Click Create draft.
The two fee components add up: a policy can charge a percentage, a per-contract amount, or both, with the floor and cap applied to the total for the order.
Check the effect before you activate¶
The price preview on the Pricing screen resolves the commission policy too, and shows the commission as its own line next to the execution cost and the total debit. Use it to sanity-check a new fee against a realistic order before putting it in force.
Activate and retire¶
Activate puts a draft in force, retires the current active policy for the same scope, and invalidates outstanding prices in that scope. Retire is permanent — a retired policy can never be re-activated.
