Actions

Actions are what a workflow does when its trigger fires and its conditions match. A workflow runs its actions in order, from top to bottom, and stops at the first one that fails. You add them in the builder's Actions section — up to ten per workflow.

The available actions are:

Send message

Send the account a message built from one of your firm's approved templates. Pick the template type; the message uses the brand-shaped template you have designed for it, so its wording and branding stay consistent.

  • Template — the message template to send, chosen from a curated list of types approved for automation (for example a welcome message, a deposit-confirmed notice, or an inactivity reminder).
  • Prefer SMS — send by text message instead of email where the chosen template supports it.

Note

Security and sign-in messages — password resets, verification codes, new-device alerts, and the like — are deliberately not available to workflows. Those are sent only by the platform's own sign-in flows.

Notify client

Raise an in-product notification for the account's customer, shown in their Client Zone or WebTrader.

  • Category — a short label that groups the notification.
  • Link (optional) — a destination the notification points to.
  • Title and Message — the text the customer sees. You can insert placeholders that are filled in from the account.

Notify operator

Raise a Backoffice notification for a member of your team.

  • Operator — who to notify: a specific user, or a business unit pool.
  • Title and Message — the notification text, which can include placeholders.

Update field

Set one field on the triggering account.

  • Field — the field to change. You can update the account's status, a tag field, or one of your firm's custom fields.
  • Value — the value to write.

This action changes only the account the workflow is acting on, and only fields you are allowed to edit.

Assign owner

Reassign the account to a new owner — a user or a business unit. The new owner must belong to your firm. Use this to route accounts to the right desk automatically, for example when a lead reaches a qualifying status.

Add note

Append a note to the account's activity, the same kind of note your team adds by hand on the account card. The note body can include placeholders.

Inserting placeholders

The text fields on Notify client, Notify operator, and Add note accept placeholders that the platform fills in from the account when the workflow runs — a customer's name, for instance. Click the variable button beside the field to choose from the placeholders available for the current trigger and drop one in at the cursor. Using the picker ensures you insert a placeholder the platform recognizes.
